Students will study Russian language instead of a second foreign 

With the new academic year comes into force the Ministry of education and science on the mandatory study in schools of the second foreign language, writes Mirror of week. 

According to the new rules, the 5th class is mandatory learning of a second foreign language. It could be any foreign language or Russian or other language of national minorities. In many schools, especially rural, this selection is uncontested because of a lack of specialists, knowing European languages, the newspaper notes. 

The Department of education has gathered information about, what language will be taught as a second foreign fifth graders in each school. According to this data, 52% schools chose the German language, 23% - Russian, 14% - French, 8% - English, 2% - Polish, 1% - Spanish. 

How to tell the educators, at various meetings them in every possible way encouraged to choose Russian language as the second foreign.

According to the head of the parliamentary Committee on science and education Lilia Hrynevych, announced during a meeting with journalists, only in the Kiev region Russian as a foreign language will study 50% students, and in Boryspil district of such pupils - as much as 62%.

As the newspaper notes, for some schools the choice of the Russian language as a second foreign language may become the only option. 

Note, during the period of stay Tabachnik Minister of education in Ukraine high rates reduced the number of Ukrainian-language schools. In particular, in the Donetsk region, scheduled to close 26 secondary schools. In this regard, in the region there have been protests of the parents of the pupils.
